With a new baby on the way, Colton knew that Marion was not going to be returning to work any time soon, and realized that their current house was just too expensive on one income. He talked it over with his family and decided to sell and buy a smaller place in the new subdivisions on the ridge. The boys would have to double up in one bedroom but luckily they were agreeable and the family settled in quickly. Woalfe just thought it was cool to have a TV and Video game machine in his room. (note: The house they were living in became too glitchy so I had to move them)

Marion’s pregnancy went easily, mostly because of the attention and care from her husband Colton. He even made breakfast every morning for her before heading off to work.

Soon it came time for the baby to be born. It was born at home, as they both had planned. The birth was quick and they welcomed a little baby girl into the home (note: Yay! A girl!) Both parents were so proud and happy. Marion loved her boys, but was happy that her last child was a little girl to spoil. They decided to name her C.J, after her father (colton Junior). Colton’s face beamed as he held his little girl for the first time. He had missed out on so much with Woalfe, that he wasn’t going to miss a moment with his little girl.

Woalfe loved his little sister as much as the rest of the family, but he soon began to wonder where *he* fit into the family. He wasn’t the smart genius like his brother, and wasn‘t the cute youngest like his sister. So what *was* he? He was just the forgotten middle child. He mulled this over one evening and decided that he didn’t want to just blend in and be forgotten, in his family or in life. But how would he stand out? He wasn’t that bright, and wasn’t that athletic, and wasn’t all too creative either. He wasn’t really much of anything he realized, and had no way of changing that, but he *could* change how he looked he decided. He decided to get a makeover to get rid of his plain brown hair and washed out clothes. The next Saturday he conned his brother into taking him downtown to do some shopping. When he unveiled his new look to Xaiden, Xaiden just laughed, “Are you serious? You’re so going to get beat up at school.” Woalfe just shrugged and grinned, “At least I’ll be noticed.”
“You’re so nuts,” Xaiden laughed, but had to admire his little brother’s guts. At least he wasn’t afraid to be himself. He wondered how his father would react.

While stopping for something to eat before heading home from downtown, Xaiden also met a girl. They talked for a while and he forced himself to ask her for her number. She gave it to him. Woalfe snickered and whispered under his breath, “K-I-S-S-I-N -” Xaiden slugged him the shoulder and blushed.
“You going to ask her out?” Woalfe asked.
“I might.”
“You going to marry her?”
“Marry her! I just met her! Come on, lets get home.”

When they got home, they ran into their father into the kitchen. Xaiden stood back, unsure how his father would react to Woalf’s new goth look. Colton just stared at him for a moment, as if not believing what he was seeing. “What do you think you’re doing?” He finally asked.
Woalfe answered, nonchalant, “Being different.”
“*Different*? You’re wearing *makeup*”
“It’s just black lipstick.”
Colton turned back to the dinner he was cooking, “Go take it off now.”
Woalfe crossed his arms, stubborn, “No.” |
“Excuse me?”
“I said no. I can look how I want.”
“Not in my house. Take it off or your grounded.”
“Fine. I’m grounded.” He walked away to his room. Xaiden decided to stand up for his little brother, “He’s just trying to stand out Dad. It’s no easy being a middle kid.”
“It’s *makeup* . He’s a *boy*”
“If you try to stop him he’ll just rebel more,“ Xaiden reasoned. “Let him do what he wants and he’ll grow out of it.”
Colton sighed, “I’ll think about it.”
The next day when Xaiden brought home his first A+ essay Colton realized that his oldest son was right. Woalfe was just trying to stand out and he was still a good kid. If he wanted to wear makeup and dye his hair black then so be it. If that was the worst he had to deal with, then it wasn’t so bad.

With the issue with his brother settled, Xiaden decided to concentrate on the new girl he met. He had talked to her a few times on the phone and decided it was time to ask her out on their first date. She said yes, and he spent the whole day trying to figure out what to wear. He took her to the local bowling alley/arcade, and was so nervous the whole time he could barely talk. There date was okay, but just okay. Xiaden was disappointed in himself and felt like he had blown his chance, which was why he was surprised when she hugged him goodbye and said they should go out again.

A few days later she came over to help study for a history test. Soon, studying was forgotten and Xaiden decided to make the move to kiss her. He leaned in, nervous and closed his eyes, and was met with Melody’s also nervous kiss. They only kissed once, because both were two shy to try again.

Meanwhile, little C.J had her birthday and grew into a spoiled toddler. Because her Dad gave in to anything she ever asked for, she was a stubborn and spoiled little girl (note: She has only 1 nice point and maxed out outgoing. I think I ended up with the first born glitch, but I see a spoiled child story developing :P) Woalfe also had his birthday and grew into a teenager. (note: he rolled romance with the LTW of being top of artist career.) Colton was disappointed to see that Woalfe hadn’t grown out of his goth phase but decided to just let it be for now. He wanted to concentrate on Xiaden for the moment. He sat down with his oldest son to talk to him about college since he was almost at that age. Xaiden had known the discussion was going to come eventually but he honestly wasn’t looking forward to it. He didn’t actually want to go away to college. He loved hanging out with his little brother and baby sister and didn’t want to leave them. He told his father this but Colton wanted a good education for his son and told him he had to start filling out applications.

Xiaden talked to Melody about school the next day and she said that her father was also making her go to college. So they came up with the plan to try to get in together. At least they would be too lonely that way.

Xiaden sent in his application and was accepted to SimState University. On the same day his father was promoted to Guest lecturer at the local community college. Colton took the family out to dinner downtown to celebrate, though Xaiden didn’t see his acceptance as something to celebrate. All he could think of was how much he would miss his family. And he was worried too about Woalfe. Woalfe didn’t have the closest relationship with their father and their mother was quite busy with their baby sister. After dinner that night, though, Woalfe came into the living room and flopped down on the couch. “You worried about college?” He asked Xaiden.
”Kind of,” Xaiden answered.
“You worried about leaving me?”
“Yeah…how’d you guess?”
“Cause you’re always worried about me. I’m fine big brother.”
“You are right now…”
Woalfe shrugged, “I’m used to Dad ignoring me. Its not a big deal. Really. And don’t worry about C.J. I’ll look after her.”
Xaiden laughed, “I don’t worry about C.J. being looked after. Dad spoils her.”
“So do you,” Woalfe pointed out with a grin.
Xaiden grinned back. It was true. No one could say no to C.J. Xaiden became serious again, “Are you really going to be okay?”
“Completely,” Woalfe said, “It’ll be kind of fun being the oldest. So, go, have fun at college!”

So Xaiden slept better that night knowing that things at home would be okay without him. And soon, too soon it seemed to Xaiden, the taxi came and took him away.

(note: So Xaiden is now also off to college)
