Right after the Jalen’s moved into their new houses, they were promptly welcomed by their old friends from Rosewood. Marion was happy to have some adult company who actually talked, since Colton insisted on going through life like a zombie. She spent hours that first morning just sitting and talking to Brady. She talked to him about her hope for a new life in Aspen lake and her fears for her family. Brady listened sympathetically, but then Marion began to notice the way he was looking at her. It was not the way a friend would look at another friend. What scared her more was that she didn’t mind the look (note: she has a two bolt chemistry with Brady. We’ll see where this goes) But she was married to Colton, and when she took her vows it was for good times *and* bad. She promptly ended the hang out session and went back to looking after her kids.



With the way Colton was acting Marion found that she was almost a single parent. She tried to give her two kids the attention they needed, but it was tough with having to look after the house and keep her secondary job too. Most of her time was focused on looking after young Woalfe, teaching him all his skills, so poor Xaiden was left to fend for himself.








Xiaden missed time with his father. In better days Colton has spent every spare moment with his son. They were the best of friends. Now he barely even noticed his kids were there. Xaiden tried to cheer his father up, but nothing seemed to work. Colton still spent most of his time sitting on the porch swing staring out at the night sky.






Marion was growing more tired and scared by the day. She realized that she could not handle working and looking after two young children on her own. She made the difficult decision to take on a work at home position for much less money but required her leaving the house only an hour a day (note: she took on the custom stay at home mom career)



And then something happened. It was evening and Marion was busy cooking dinner, leaving the little ones to their own devices. Woalfe toddled up to his father asking for attention. At first Colton stared and did nothing, but then he reached down and picked up his son. He stared at him for a moment, as if this was the first time he had seen him. Then he pulled him close, hugging him and whipsering, “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry”



And slowly, Colton began to improve. He laughed again and held Woalfe and played with Xaiden. He even let Xiaden skip school for a day to spend the afternoon at the beach boardwalk, just the two of them. At frist Marion wasn’t ready to trust, expecting him to fall back into zombie mode any day. But he didn’t. He even started to make his traditional family pancake breakfasts again.





Time went on and Marion slowly began to trust. Their family began to be an actual family again and both boys had their birthdays. (note: Colton rolled knowledge)






One evening, while relaxing in bed, Colton rolled over and said something Marion had thought about for a while. “lets have another child.” At first Marion was hesitant. Was Colton really ready for another child. “I..I don’t know. I mean, you’ve just started acting normal again.” “I’m okay now Marion. Really. I realized something. My family isn’t dead; my family is right here. Lets do it Marion. Lets have another child.” Marion could only smile and nod. Another child sounded just right. (note: Marion became pregnant just as the round ended. I’m hoping for a girl this time.)
